R&R/ARC Review Sunday: London Bound by Amy Daws

Goodreads Blurb:
"After falling in love with "us" in the first two installments of the London Lovers Series, now...it's Leslie's turn in this spicy series stand alone.***

When Leslie Lincoln, a spunky, red-headed American, suffers an awkward moment with an arousingly-sexy British man—she thinks her life can't get any more pathetic.

She's done with men.
She doesn't need them.
She especially doesn't need their muscular thighs.
No siree, she's going to forget all about the brooding, complicated, and seductive "Theo" who captivated her on the dance floor of a London nightclub.

Keep telling yourself that, Lez.....

Immersing herself into a new type of romantic cleanse, Leslie thinks she'll never lay eyes on Theo again. But somehow, he's managed to bulldoze his way back in—her cheetah-print onesie pajamas be damned.

He wants more.
She wants to run.
But he can’t seem to let her go.

Both of them have a past—and neither want to share.

How can love possibly survive in darkness?"

Review:
Thank you to the author, Amy Daws, for gifting me with an ARC copy of London Bound in exchange for an honest review!

Hmmm... where to start with this one...  I did like it.  It was a nice, well written romance with plenty of hilarious lines.  This is a good place to start... what did I like?

I really liked seeing Finley and Brody again and watching their story continue in a sense.  Going along with that, I really liked that the author decided to write a book from Leslie's perspective.  I've been curious about her ever since she appeared in the first book and it was interesting to read about her past and how she thinks.

One thing the author did very well is creating a distinction between the voices.  All the characters sound different and have different mannerisms and the author never forgot that.

Going along with that, I loved reading about both Theo and Leslie's pasts and how it's impacting them in present day.  Finding out what each person was holding back solved so many little things that were sprinkled throughout the book and I actually went back and reread it just knowing what it is!

One thing I'm not sure I can get on board with is the dynamic of Leslie and Theo's relationship.  Without giving too much away, Theo kind of pushes Leslie into a relationship and judging by Leslie's past, I didn't think she would allow that.  Theo just seemed so pushy to me and I never warmed up to him.  Their relationship just rubbed me the wrong way although it straightened out a bit in the end...  I don't know I just can't fully enjoy books where the relationships feel off.

The Final Verdict:
A good love story although I'm not quite sure about the two MC's relationship dynamic.  I loved seeing Finley and Brody again as well as seeing their distinct personalities emerge through the author's writing.
3.5 stars
